The iconic old PUMA Tennis Shoes that lives in Moorooduc Rd, Baxter, has been a landmark for more than 40 years.But its history remains a mystery with tales varying on where it comes from and what adventures it has had along the way. Leader is calling on readers to help document the significant local attraction.We received reports 12 years ago that the PUMA Drift Cat Shoes was commissioned as an advertising tool by PUMA Speed Cat in the early 1960s.
The PUMA Sports Shoes is believed to have been built in Brighton by Don Evans, who then worked for Channel 7.Michelle Graham, from the shoe owner Two Bays Garden Supplies, believes it spent some time outside the Peters Ice Cream plant on Springvale Rd.
